SPRING STEM
FAMILY ADVENTURE CAMPS

OVERVIEW

The STEM Family Adventure Camp is an overnight camping experience designed to give Cub Scouts and their families an exciting adventure this summer while earning the Uncovering the Past NOVA Award! While at the event, participants will go camping, participate in shooting sports, games, crafts, and campfires and spending quality time with their family! All participants will receive a patch and lunch on Saturday.

*NOTE: Lions and Tigers are not eligible to earn the NOVA Award, however there are plenty of activities and advancements that will be completed during Family Adventure Camp. For those Scouts participating who will be Wolves as of June 1, they can earn the STEM NOVA Award during Family Adventure Camp and enter the advancement after June 1.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

FRIDAY NIGHT

5:00 - 8:00pm​: Check in and tent setup.

SATURDAY

8:00-9:00am​: Check in for Saturday-only participants

9:10-12:00pm: Open Program. Families can attend any programs during this time. Programs include, but are not limited to:

  • BB guns

  • Archery

  • Slingshot

12:00-1:00pm: Lunch. Lunch is included in the cost of registration for all participants. 

1:00-3:00pm: Open Program. Families can attend any programs during this time. Programs include, but are not limited to:

  • BB guns

  • Archery

  • Slingshot

3:00pm: Closing & Departure. Gather for a final closing ceremony for camp. Participants can leave after 3pm on Saturday or can continue camping until Sunday morning. Saturday night camping depends on location.

SUNDAY MORNING

10:00am​: All Saturday night campers must be out of camp by 10:00am Sunday.

MEALS, GEAR, AND OTHER INFO

MEALS

Saturday lunch is the only meal provided at Family Adventure Camp. Prepare to bring food to cook in your campsite if camping. 

GEAR

Below you will find a suggested packing list for Family Adventure Camp. Items like tents, fire pits, chairs, sleeping bags, etc. are not provided. 

FIRES

Fires are permitted at Family Adventure Camp, however they must be in an
ABOVE-GROUND fire pit.
There are to be no ground fires. There will also not be any firewood

available at camp, please be prepared to bring your own wood, kindling, and materials to start

a fire.

SAMPLE PACKING LIST FOR FAMILY ADVENTURE CAMP

  • Tent & stakes

MEDICAL FORMS

All participants must fill out the BSA Medical form (parts A & B) and bring to camp.
