Scouting in Buckeye Council has grown over the last 3 years with Cub Scouts leading the way. This

growth is fueled by excellent recruitment campaigns each year, and by incredible unit programs

delivered by volunteer leaders that retain Scouts.

Our Join Scout Night recruitment campaign is back with the popular Hooked on Scouting theme

that saw tremendous success in 2023! Every new Scout who joins this fall will receive a brand-new

fishing pole and an invitation to attend Family Adventure Camp, where they’ll get to use their

fishing pole.​

 

To support this effort, units will once again have access to flyers, yard signs, posters, and all the usual promotional materials to help spread the word. ​But this year, let’s go beyond the basics. School talks and yard signs alone aren’t enough to reach every family. By collaborating across units, promoting multiple Join Scout Nights in our communities, and encouraging families to share their Scouting stories on social media, we can make a real impact.

Scouting has always been a grassroots movement, driven by passionate people united around shared values. The words we say every week, “On my honor, I will...” and “A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful...”, still guide us today. ​This fall, let’s come together around those ideals. Let’s invite every youth to experience the adventure, the friendships, and the purpose of Scouting. Together, we can grow Scouting and build the next generation of leaders.
