And now that Scouts is open to both girls and boys, even more youth will have access to the awesome character development and values-based leadership opportunities that Scouting provides.
Cub Scouting is more than just an activity. It’s adventure, learning, and discovery around every corner.
From STEM, to exploring the outdoors, your son or daughter will be on the path to discovering their
very best “future self”- and they’ll have fun doing it!
Cub Scouting involves the entire family!
That’s right – Cub Scouts isn’t just for kids. There’s something in it for you, too! Time… We know
families are busy, often feeling crunched for quality time. Cub Scouting provides opportunities to
spend time together while setting your kids on the path to future success. From volunteering with
the pack, to leading family activities at home, parents can choose how involved they’d like to be.

If you could give only one gift to the young people who are most important in your life, what would it be? No matter what your family situation is, it is within your power to help these children grow into people with a good feeling about themselves and a genuine concern for others. Cub Scouting can assist you in providing this greatest gift of all.
ADVENTURES
Based on different topics such as hiking, nature, science, citizenship, first aid, sports, and more, adventures are earned as a Cub Scout advances toward their badge of rank. Once an adventure is completed, a Cub Scout receives recognition in the form of an adventure loop or adventure pin.
AIMS & METHODS
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. There are four aims of Scouting: citizenship, character, personal fitness, and leadership.
The methods of Cub Scouting are: living the ideals, belonging to a den, advancement, family involvement, activities, serving the community, and the uniform.
COSTS
When compared to the cost of sports and many other activities, there is no doubt that Scouting delivers great value to its members! In addition to the registration fee, there are uniform costs and nominal activity fees. Of course, these costs may be offset by unit fundraising like the annual popcorn sale.

At any point of your free trial, you can decide to join Scouting! There are more than 250 different Scouting groups throughout our area and probably at least one in your town! Joining Scouting is easy, once you click to join Scouting, you can find in-person sign up meetings happening over the next two months or you can find information on signing up online from the comfort of your home!

After you’ve joined Cub Scouts, you’re invited to participate in a free virtual Rocket Academy featuring at-home STEM activities to help get ready to go fishing and watch exclusive webinars with NASA Engineers.
THEN REGISTER FOR FAMILY ADVENTURE CAMP!
Then, you’re invited to launch your rocket at an upcoming Family Adventure Camp! Bring the whole family to camp, go fishing, use bow and arrows & BB guns, and so much more!
Family Adventure Camps are occurring throughout the Buckeye Council at various locations to make it easily accessible for all families to attend.

Part of the Cub Scout program is the uniform! The uniform is an important part of the Scouting program as it has been since scouting was first started. The uniform identifies the youth and adults with Cub Scouts and gives them a sense of belonging to the den, the pack, and the Boy Scouts of America.
As a new Cub Scout, we have created official Cub Scout Launch Packs to aid in starting your uniform! Launch Packs give your Scout everything needed to "launch" his or her Scouting adventure. Each Launch Pack includes:
